Babe Ruth Baseball of Stamford Inc.

16u and 18u Programs

Updated Friday February 5, 2016 by Babe Ruth Baseball of Stamford Inc..

For our 16u-18u players, our Allstar teams will continue to be branded under our Stamford Thunder name, consistent with the 2011 - 2015 seasons.

Teams of players wishing to play at a less competitive level will be entered into the Fairfield Babe Ruth League or the CT State Travel League for Spring and Summer baseball, based on demand.

2016 will feature several important developments as we strive to offer competitive baseball to skilled players seeking to play baseball in college or higher.

First, Anes Koummal will continue coaching the age group he coached last summer. Anes is a baseball graduate of D1 Quinnipiac University, and is on loan to us from Bobby Valentines Sports Academy, bringing with him several years of coaching experience with BVSA Fury teams which, importantly, focus on tournament/showcase events.  Joining Anes on the coaching staff will be Chris LoRusso, who played baseball at Eastern Connecticut.  The schedule for the 18u team this year includes several tournament/showcase events targeted at players who are currently completing their sophomore or junior years of high school.

Second , we hope to form two additional 17u or 16u teams to play in the competitive WBA Wood Bat League.

Lastly, we intend to field an 18u/19u Thunder Allstar team to compete in the CT State tournament .  Stay tuned here for more information later in the winter.
